The agent makes it all

Full auto in the Studio is one sentence. With the Studio open the chat speaks to its agent, and a brief is the whole making:

make an agent called greeter that answers hello in three languages, with a golden case per language, on the opus stall

The wizard does not open — its word is the whole line make an agent, and a brief is longer. The workshop agent thinks on the opus stall by stock (the binding names claude-opus-5-5; the MIND chip or assign workshop to … still wins, and unassign workshop restores the stock), with twelve rounds instead of the gateway’s three, so it can make several crafts in one ask. Within a minute the rail shows a bench greeter under YOUR BENCHES with its drafts under it, and the agent’s reply says in plain words what it made and that the Yes is yours.

The agent plans the set, opens a bench, calls its draft tool once per craft with the whole declaration each time, and files one held act. On the brief above it made:

Draft on the bench What it is
greeter.v0 — the graph One think node pinned to the opus stall, with its prompt.
greeter-words — a prompt The agent’s own words for the body, made when the brief needs words of its own, and named on the think node.
greeter — the golden set Three cases, one per language, each expecting short words the reply must contain (the harness’s law).
greeter — the template Kind agent, graph greeter.v0, a nature in one line, a mind naming opus’s model.

Every draft is yours to open and edit by hand on the rail before the Yes — or to let go with let the greeter bench go.

The agent’s last act is to file put greeter to work — the kernel’s own hold, at L2, under your seat, in your session, through the same door the bench’s PUT TO WORK button uses. The chat draws it as the agent’s, because the held act’s record carries who filed it:

workshop made greeter on your brief · files put it to work · your Yes

with the chain’s lines — the prompt greeter-words as version 1 · the graph greeter.v0 as version 1 · the golden set greeter as version 1 · the agent greeter as version 1 → the experiment — and its own Yes and Cancel. The bench’s card at PUT TO WORK holds the same ask with its second face. Nothing of greeter stands on the shelf until you click. The tool tells the agent’s mind never answer it; a reading seat’s brief is refused in words; a bench not whole refuses before any hold; a second filing while the first waits refuses too.

The three modes law: full auto is your dial of involvement, never the machine running alone, and a consequence holds for a person in every mode. The agent may never:

  • cut — the cut is the chain’s, on your Yes;
  • promote — the promotion is a second, separate Yes;
  • seat a life;
  • register a source or a server;
  • answer a hold — its own or any other.

Fully auto makes drafts and files one held act. It never passes the gate or the promotion by itself. The walk’s bar holds throughout: it cut nothing, promoted nothing, seated nothing, registered nothing, answered no hold.

  • draft — a draft filed on your open bench of that name (a bench not open refuses in words, so the agent opens it first).
  • bench — open · read · work · close. work files the hold above; close lets the bench go.
  • the docs — the two LangChain MCP servers on the shelf (langchain-docs and langchain-reference), their search and lookup tools named on the workshop agent’s template and the librarian’s. An MCP-born tool a template names is offered only while its server stands on the shelf, so a ground without the servers loses nothing and says nothing false.
  • the shelf’s read, and in its recalled notes THE STABLE (the stalls by name with their model) and YOUR BENCHES (your open benches and what stands on each, whole or not), under your seat alone.
Say What happens
make an agent called … that … The brief: a bench, every craft as drafts, one held act for your Yes.
workshop, fix the greeter golden set so every case expects words the reply contains Only when a case failed at the gate: the agent updates the draft on the bench; fix the golden cases on the card declines and puts it to work again. With every case passed it saves the same cases and files nothing, and says so.
unassign workshop Back to the binding’s stock mind, opus.
promote greeter · say hello to greeter Yours, as for any agent.

First walk, 2026-10-16 (JB, through step 5). The brief made the bench, four crafts and one hold; the Yes cut the graph and the golden set and opened the experiment; the trial passed three of three and the reviewers leaned to promote. But the prompt the agent wrote and named on the think node had stayed a draft on the bench — the chain had cut graph · golden · template only — so the trial ran without it, with none of the language labels the prompt asked for, and the gate judged a thinner agent than the one made. The agent had also thought on sonnet, a MIND-chip assignment of two days before winning over the stock, as locked. Cured the same day on both kernels: the chain cuts every prompt and skill the graph names before the graph.

Second walk, 2026-10-16 — PASS through step 6. The hold’s lines read the prompt first and the unchanged graph as a skipped line; the Yes landed the prompt and the golden set and opened the experiment; the trial passed three of three with the prompt, every reply labelled by language; the grader, the identity chip and the security chip signed; the critic filed its proposed golden draft and closed without its verdict line (recorded as missing, honestly); the promotion seated greeter on floor ops; greeter, hello answered Hello. Hola. Bonjour. Good to see you, jb. The agent thought on opus, on the meter.

Owed and named. Step 7, the measure — how well Orreth made greeter against what a frontier model would have written by hand — is JB’s to write. Two glass wounds are named, not cured: a bench the agent made, opened at THE CARD, draws the wizard’s stock instead of the bench’s own crafts; the MIND chip reads the template’s own mind while the seat wears the binding’s. The critic’s missing verdict line after its propose call is named.
